Miraj : A place in Sangali District of Maharshtra where trouble had started on Anant Chaturdashi day-- September 3-- when some people tried to raise an arch on the Ganesh idol immersion procession route, depicting murder of Mughal warrior Afzulkhan by king Shivaji as recorded in the Maratha history and what follows was the sorry picture of volatile relations between two communities. Even police seems to be helpless as seen in one of the video shown below.
.
This year Miraj Dangal was organised on September 2.
"The Guru (Teacher) is the Lord Brahma (the Creator), the Guru is the Lord Vishnu (the Preserver), the Guru is the Lord Shiva (the Destroyer). The Guru is the Supreme Brahman (Ultimate Reality) visible to our eyes. To that Guru we offer our salutations".
Since times immemorial, Indians have respected their teachers. Earlier we used to call our teachers 'Guru'. And now it's the modern 'Sir' or 'Madam'. Nonetheless, the role of teachers has remained the same. They were and they are our guides, creating conditions conducive to our overall development. And we students will always be thankful for their constructive support. As an expression of our thanks, we celebrate Teacher's Day in India.
Teachers mold the lives that they influence because the lessons learned from teachers remain with their students throughout life. We should always respect our teachers. Teachers need encouragement and support from the community to feel that their devotion to students is appreciated.
If you ever have come across one teacher in all your student life, who has changed your life and your way of thinking for the better, you have been blessed. Thankfully I have had several such opportunities. Right from pre-primary school right up to architecture college, and then graduate school, I have benefited from teachers who have gone beyond their call of duty, to mould me and my fellow students into better human beings, first and foremost, and then to instill in us a sense of purpose for life, that at a young age seems all too ambiguous.
The teachers went above the regular lectures, exams, viva’s and juries, and made me realize that education is something much more than what is contained in the printed text book.
I consider education to be one of the nobler professions, akin to medicine. Teachers who spend their lives teaching kids, do more than just teach. They help mould the future of our communities, cities and countries.
I shall forever be thankful to all those wonderful teachers, who have enriched my life. To name a few would not be fair, because there are too many to name. And this is a day about all the teachers who have worked silently, under great stress and pressure to produce responsible and capable citizens of this world.
In all our lives, the teachers have played a major role in shaping our character and career. It’s important that we take some time to wish all the teachers. Teacher's Day in India is celebrated on September 5, every year. Indian Teachers Day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, One of the most celebrated writers in the modern India today his work varies on philosophical, theological, ethical, educational, social and cultural subjects. He contributed numerous articles to different well-known journals, which, are of immense value and seems to surprise various readers because of the depth in the meaning of the articles, one who was a staunch believer of education and was one of the greatest scholars and teachers of all times, apart from being the President of India. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday is observed as Teachers Day in India. This is not a holiday but is known for celebrations across the country. It marks the birth anniversay of former Indian president and teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President of India in 1962,he was approached by some of his students and friends and requested him to allow them to celebrate 5th September, his "birthday". In reply, Dr.Radhakrishnan said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers' day". The request showed Dr.Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, the day has been observed as Teachers' Day in India.
On Teacher's day schools students dress up as their teachers and take lectures in classes that are assigned to the teachers they represent. Sometimes teachers sit in their classes as students, reliving again the time when they themselves were students. Thus, both students as well as teachers get to understand each other's position. Also, functions are organized in schools on Teacher's Day. Students present various programs for the entertainment of their teachers. In addition to being the day when the efforts of teachers are recognized, it provides a chance for healthy interaction between students and teachers.
World Teachers' Day, held annually on 5 October since 1994, commemorates teachers’ organisations worldwide. Its aim is to mobilise support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers.
According to UNESCO, World Teachers' Day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.
Education International (EI) (the global union federation that represents education professionals worldwide) strongly believes that World Teachers' Day should be internationally recognized and celebrated around the world. EI also believes that the principles of the 1966 and 1997 Recommendations should be considered for implementation in all nations.
Over 100 countries observe World Teachers' Day. The efforts of Education International and its 390 member organisations have contributed to this widely spread recognition. Every year, EI launches a public awareness campaign to highlight the contributions of the teaching profession
I wish happy teachers day to all my teachers
So in your busy schedule this Friday morning, I urge you to take 10 minutes and email, call or write to teachers who have made a difference in your lives. Do it, they deserve it.
“The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes,
and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself.” Edward Bulwer Lytton
A good teacher is a master of simplification and an enemy of Simplism. Louis A. Berman
A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image,
but to develop students who can create their own image. Anon

Personal notes for desktop Managing your day-to-day life is not an easy job to do. There are so many things to concern for - housekeeping, shopping, children... And what about cousin's birthday you always forget or important 'phone numbers? Undoubtedly your working place is covered with dusty yellow (or blue, or pink) sticky notes. If so - PNotes is right for you. Throw the physical stickies away and replace them with virtual ones on your desktop. PNotes (Pinned Notes or Portable Notes, use what you prefer) can also be skinless, that allows stretching them to any reasonable size. Scheduling is also important feature of PNotes. It is possible to schedule each note to remind you about significant events by three different ways - alarm you once, every day at specified time or pester you every specified interval. You may also dock notes to any side of screen (all together or each one separately) and get as result a kind of panel. One more PNotes feature - ability to join notes into groups by your choice. You can create, modify, delete and relocate groups by simple click or drag-and-drop. Changing group for each note performed by dragging it onto appropriate group. PNotes is fully Unicode supported and translated into many languages. And, obviously, it is portable - it leaves no traces in Windows registry and can be started from any drive (fixed or flash) on any computer. Take your notes with you to any location. I also want to thank PortableApps.com forum staff for many useful suggestions and spending time for testing the program. I hope that you will enjoy using PNotes as I enjoy developing it!
Installation of PNotes is very simple: just download ZIP archive with latest version and extract it into directory of your choice. Uninstallation is not more difficult - just delete the PNotes directory. The latest U3 package of PNotes is created by Jan Thonemann (Tomcat). To add language file that is currently missing, to U3 package (new files may appear at any moment) - just put it in the \System\Apps\8A6D051F-80A5-432C-B8B2-C319DB0AB5E7\Data\lang directory on you U3 drive. IMPORTANT - program since version 3.x is incompatible with skins from previous version. The program behavior in such case is unpredictable (it may led to program crash or system freezing).

INLD leader Ajay Singh Chautala along with former HPSC chairman K.C. Bangar claimed that HCS Prel 2009 results were manipulated to give advantage to 21 candidates to appear in mains, they also release names of 11 candidates who are close relatives of HPSC members, bureaucrats and chief minister of Haryana. INLD demanded a probe in the job selection irregularities by a sitting High Court judge.
There has also been charges of corruption, nepotism and large scale irregularities in the HPSC selection process so this news only make the already doubtful process more concerns in the mind of genuine candidates who will be appearing in mains from 22nd Aug. 2009 and many of these candidates not got there admit cards yet so for them the following notice may be of some help.
There has been news of large scale corruption in the selection process for Ranji Players and Virendra Sehwag is trying to raise his voice so that the issue to be discussed. No doubt the senior player's like Sehwag's voice could not be ignored unlike the beginners who levelled such charges in the past also. Where ever discretion is involved there are chances of corruption and nepotism and to add a large scale money is involved in the cricket so everyone tries to get a chance to play at least in Ranji in the cricket crazy nation by hook or crook so the talent is sometimes take back seat and if in such time cricketers come out to make the selection process more transparent should be welcomed by all the cricket lovers. And Gautam Gambheer and Ishant Sharma backing their skipper shows the solidarity and concern to make DDCA corruption free.
