Pugilist bring accolades

More good news coming from Boxing arena, after a spectacular performance in Olympics Indian pugilist once again bring laurels to India in the recently held Asian Boxing Championship at Zhuani, China in fact Suranjoy Singh is also the lone gold medallist at the recently held European Grand Pix in May 2009. Drought of gold from 15 years has been ultimately ended with Suranjoy Singh win gold in 51 kg category, this is the first gold after Rajkumar Sangwan won gold medal in 1994 at Tehran. In the nail biting finish Manipuri lad Suranjoy Singh beat local favourite Li Chao with 9-8 whereas other Manipuri Nanao Singh lost the cliffhanger with the same margin 8-9 to Thai Boxer Pongprayoon Keaw and has settle for Silver. Jai Bhagwan also lost the bout in final and has to satisy for silver. Four boxers including olympian Vijender settled for Bronze medal.
