balotara is answer of heavily rain in pushkar.luni rivers way from nag pahar ajmer to balotara

          Naresh said...

          Hi Jaideep,
there are different theories regarding that.
First as it starts from Naga pahad which is in Ajmer so it may be Ajmer, secondly since the water of luni river reaches Balotra so it may also be the answer, thirdly some may say that as Pali's water level is lower so it may also be the answer and fourthly since Luni reaches not only to Balotra but it flows to Rann of Kutch so that may be the answer :)
thats why its doubtful for me .

i feel that Desert is the most stable ecosystem..... cos the state of desert always remains the same....nothing can change a Desert... dont u think so.....

          Naresh said...

          Hi Mahendra,
you are right in saying that it's not red Panda in fact its Giant Panda but that's the most appropriate one.
regarding most stable ecosystem there are some doubts according to some sources as the temperature variation is not much in marine ecosystem so its most stable.

          UMANG NANDWANA said...

THE answer is BALOTRA for sure coz, if some one goes to last years paper the same type question asked as the place situated below the base level of river, the answer was BALOTRA and river was LUNI. This years question wanted that heavy rain in NAG PAHAR will result in great flow in LUNI but not flooding AJMER coz its a hilly place and well above the base level of river in its young course. BALOTRA is in OLD STAGE of LUNI and prone to flooding which is a plane area. Similarly like rain in NEPAL causes flooding in BIHAR.

see the article at : http://bcognizance.iiita.ac.in/apr-jun08/inflation.htm
third statement is incorrect if we consider it only for India, but overall it's true.
It is important to recognize that the inflation rate going down does not mean prices are declining. It only means the rate at which the prices are going up has slowed down.

what Harman is saying about inflation is absolutely true becoz if prices decline that is DEFLATION.

Inflation always mean rise in general price level, even if that is at a decreasing rate..

According to my point of view there is still some answers, which are doubtful and can not solved with RPSC rectification.

best of luck to all of you.

          Hi amit,

I dont know about history, but considering the limited number of vacancies this year, its hard to predict the cut off this time.. Consider this, in 2003, the cut-off for general candidate was 280 (if the rumour is to be believed) even though there were more than 500 vacancies.. In 2008, the vacancies are only 150 or so.. so with this logic, the cut-off shd be higher than 280, even though there are other factors also to be considered like the quality of question paper and scaling criterion.

I have apperaed for RAS mains twice in the past, so if i can tell from my whatever little experience i have, i think the cut-off shd be around 240-250 for general candidate (inclusive of the negative marking and scaling).. Personally, i have a score of around 240-245 after negative marking, with my optional subject as sociology.. Im jus keeping my fingers crossed ....

          Dear All,
there is some news from reliable inside sources.
first, let me introduce myself. i am Inder Choudhary, done my MBA, just now preparing exclusively for RAS belonging to OBC (Creamy Layer)i.e.General Category.

News is that RPSC has asked for classification of services that is reservation roster category wise from DOP, all sheets have been scanned way back, the day RPSC gets classification, next day they are in position to declare but RPSC has decided first to declare mains result.
The mains result is now ready and in process of final compilation. So we can safely assume that mains result would be out within a week that is till 15th and prelims result definitely within ten days of mains result.
A thought about cut offs, as GK is not scaled so whichever year GK paper is easy and major subjects like history and pol. sc., pub. ad. is easy the cutoff goes high like once it went to 270 after scaling specially when seats were slight more. This year the GK paper was moderately tough, pub. ad. was hard like rocket science, history was easy but not cake walk & pol. Sc. was easy, the seats are less but have increased slightly at present. Please note the notification for slight increase in seats and classification of seats is in pipeline. So, my assumption is this year cut off would be around 230-240 for general category & around same for OBC and other categories proportionately less.
          lets hope for the best.

          Hi Inder,
first of all welcome on this blog, hope your expertise will help many others who are preparing for this exam.
well one of the friend enquired the RPSC office and according to him they told him that RAS 2007 mains result will be out in the last week of Feb. Anyway its good if it comes in Feb only as many of us are eagerly waiting for it.
          cheers !

Hello Naresh Sir, Iam Anil and want to know What is the eligibility for School Lect? Is B.Ed. is mandatory for the same. Pl let me know. I dont have the RPSC notification of May 08. Now RPSC has issued the corrigendum to that notifiction and the last date has been extended upto 06 Mar 09.(www.rpsc.gov.in)

          Inder Choudhary said...

          Dear All,
Correction is needed in my previous mail of yesterday. Today there is news in newspaper Bhaskar which says
"RPSC has previously decided to declare mains result just after RJS exam but due to intense work of patwari exam, the mains result probably would be out in march after RPSC eases from patwari exam"
My information source was a lower cadre person who perhaps did have access to old decision but not newer decision.
There is no talk about prelims result, previosly RPSC has thought to publish after mains result, now let us see whether they wait for pre results also.
The great thing about RPSC results is that lots of speculation comes into play as they change their mindset at times.
          have a nice wait!

hi sir how merit for ras pre is prepared
and how many marks are needed to qualify for mains i have computer engg as optional subject

          Naresh said...

RAS prel merit is based on scaled marks obtained by candidates, the scaled marks are calculated using one statistical formula, so your raw marks that is your real marks in the subject may be decreased or increased. It seems the cutoff this time will be around 220-230 out of 400

          Naresh said...

          scaling formula used by RPSC

          scaled mark=M+(X-m)S/s
where M=overall mean of all optional subjects
          X=Your raw marks
          m=mean of your optional
S=standard deviation of all optional subjects
          s=standard deviation of your optional

Hi This is BABAR KHAN. I have appeared for RAS mains 2009 and appearing for IAS mains too, this year. Can anyone tell me how does scaling works in RAS Mains exam coz my GS paper was too bad,I attempted only 154 marks, however all other papers were good enough, so can i expect any benefit? My optionals were geography and Pub. Adm..

          Naresh said...

          Hi Babar,
Actually you must be talking about RAS Mains 2008 conducted in July-Aug 2009. Well coming to your question the GS paper was of only 100 marks only and if you also include Raj GK then only it will total 200 so its not clear how much you have attempted in what, anyway scaling process not effect much the score for most of the students only in particular year a particular subject gains or lose and it depends on various factor so if you have done good in other papers then no need to worry and yes in compulsory papers also there is scaling

          Babar khan said...

hi Naresh, congs for ur interview n Yes including Gk, i attempted 154 marks only. n r u done with ur interview?
u must hav also appeared for this mains. how did u find it? wat could be the cut off this time as compared to last time?

          Babar khan said...

I skipped 16 marks in GS paper1 n 30 marks in rajasthan GK. cn i xpect sm positive scaling with optionals like Geography n pub adm

          Naresh said...

@ Babar : Pub Admn and Geo normally get positive scaling due to number of students atleast you can expect that these subject not get any negative scaling, even if you left 16 in GS and 30 in Raj GK thats not a big deal b.coz Raj GK is slightly typical this time. the cut off will hover around 700 only is what I am expecting, lets see whats there.

          Babar khan said...

Thnx !! so hw abt ur interview?

          Naveen said...

          Hi Naresh,

congratulations for clearing mains and best of luck for interview..... can you please tell me the complete list of books which are needed for RAS pre GK and GS exam. please suggest books in hindi which covers most of the syllabus of gk and gs...

          Naresh said...

          for Rajasthan GK
          bhalla and bhalla's contemporary rajasthan,
laxminarayan nathuramka's economy of rajasthan, rochak rajasthan of ashok chaudhary are good books.
for second optional you can choose frm pub admn, geo and history. go thru syl and decide for yourself from these.

hi naresh i dont think ras mains 2008 merit would be so high even though the post are less it seems to me that it will be 650-660

          Babar Khan said...

          @ Naresh
after 2007 merit, I m little worried about RAS 09 Both Push n Pull factors seem equally forceful.
As in, vacancies being just 1/3rd as compared to 2007 cut off this time seems to be even higher but due to GS being typical n lesser students writing mains, cut off might be app. equal, wat do you think??

          sandeep said...

now seeing the last years mains result i want to modify my expected cut off.slightly upward.now i think 680+/- 10 is the safe bet.what is your opinion BABER.

          Naresh said...

@ Baber and Sandeep : the cut off doesn't vary much except in extreme cases like too many or too less vacancies and thats not the case with RAS 2008 so I still stick with around 700 to be the cut off for RAS mains 2008.

          Naresh said...

          Babar khan said...

          @ Sandeep
YEah its always safer to keep it higher than expectation, so just like Naresh said, it should not be much above 700 n if its below 700 then take it as a BONUS !!

          Babar khan said...

lookin at current RAS scenario, reservation n all, being a Gen Male, I find it a bigger challenge to get a brth in RAS proper, than claearin UPSC. This year I have unintentionally ruined my UPSC mains preparation coz of RAS mains. but not sure ws it a right decision. Candidates gettin 200 out of 200, ridiculous !! awful reservation and scaling is really heart breaking.

          Naresh said...

I too agree with you Babar and as I always said one should always keep UPSC in mind while preparing as in RPSC many forces act together so one should have extra luck to get a good service in RAS.

          sandeep said...

yeah bro.i agree with you.it is really going tougher and tougher to get posted for proper ras as the merit is sky rocketing.but i dont understand the logic behind fixing the ras 07 mains merit at 656.as you see even 700+ marks student who get 100 in interview were not selected.rpsc should have fixed cut off 720+.

          sandeep said...

naresh bro when you are expecting this years mains result.one of my friend told me that except anthropology all copies are checked.should we expect the result in october.

          Naresh said...

@ Sandeep : RPSC religiously following the rules so it has to call candidates three times the vacancies :) but it seems to protect itself from any further litigations it call those OBC students also whose merit is more than general.
regarding result of RAS 2008 I am not sure but its true that interviews will be over before Feb 2009 :)

          Babar Khan said...

Bro, is it true like this time 2nd, 3rd & 4th rank occupied by OBC but they would be accomodated in Gen. seats.

          Naresh said...

yes, perfectly true otherwise no OBC boys can become RAS :)

          babar khan said...

so yaar, if this time RAS+RPS seats for gen. r 15+11=26, then wt rank shud a gen male get for last seat on RPS, provided 2 conditions:
prob is dat other reserved bro n sis can tk over gen categ
positive thing is in 11 RPS not a single reservd for SCs though STs n OBCs r there but females usually dt prefer Police
Still Wat I thnk below 905-910 marks its nt worth xpectng evn RPS
          Aap ko kya lagta hai

          Naresh said...

For Gen Male its really tough as OBC are giving tough fight to them and specially Women's empowerment is really worth noticing in this year's result but I think with 905-910 score they can get the RPS rest depends as you said on how many girls not opted RPS but I see no reason that they had not given preference of RPS over other services.

          Hi Naresh and all,

I have one question related with RAS examination,is scaling process will be done in
the 2012 RAS exam, I have read out in the news paper that High court has denied the scaling process. It told the RPSC commission that it is wrong.Any idea you people have about this matter???

          Dr Naresh Jhajharia said...

scaling was there in RAS 2010, you may heard abt RJS exam

          Anonymous said...

Nareshji, sorry to ask this, but I have heard that that are negligible chances of selection of candidates from states other than rajasthan, and that too on proper posts of RAS or RPS.Kindly throw some light on this that whether this is a misconception or not?Do you think that that the pattern of mains exam is attributable for this? What your experience says?

Hi naresh in this blog computer fundamental by Pradeep K. Sinha for computer science subject has been suggested.Do u think it is good book ?.

          Dr Naresh Jhajharia said...

@veer : I am not sure abt that buddy.

@shivalik : u can try to find the prev yr papers in mkt but as these are not conventional papers so ask ur srs for that who opted this paper. For Prel cut off it will remain around 50-60 % for unconventional raw marks are slightly high as only those opt this who are comfortable so not much std deviation so little effect of scaling in these so u have to perform better than ur peers in the subject

@anonymous : there is fair chance of selection of candidates from other states I always feel like that but in Raj GK paper locals have better chances as they are familiar with the hist/geo and culture, thats it.
